Driving Innovation Together
In March 2022, three people were handed a blank canvas and a monumental task: build the software layer of a climate company from the ground up. There was no legacy system to migrate, no inherited team, and no playbook. There was only a fast-growing organization that needed tools built for its own unique DNA-not borrowed from someone else’s.
This was the beginning of the Climate Software Lab (CSL) as a fully-fledged internal team. With 16 dedicated members working under the leadership of Arun Madhavan, the CSL team focuses on the technical side of the company by developing and maintaining systems that support various business operations. Today, the team manages and supports around 30+ applications that are actively used across the organisation.
These systems help streamline workflows, manage data efficiently, and provide better operational visibility for different teams within GPS Renewables. Through continuous improvements, technical support, and development efforts, CSL plays an important role in enabling the company’s digital growth.
Every time someone at GPS Renewables logs a request, pulls up a report, or moves a task through an internal system, there is a quiet team behind it that built that experience and is probably already working on making it better. The foundation of the CSL team was built by its first members – Sudhina KV, Jithin Thankachan, and Sachin Gracious, who have been part of the team since the very beginning and continue to contribute significantly to its growth.
As part of nurturing young talent, the CSL team also welcomes fresh graduates through campus placements, including Abhijith and Aswathy, providing them opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to real-world projects.
The team is strengthened by experienced professionals and strong leadership. Sreenath NJ and Suman Rajan serve as the System Administrators, ensuring that infrastructure and system operations run smoothly. The team also receives strong technical guidance and coordination from team Leads Sachin Gracious and Jithin Thankachan, who support the team in delivering solutions efficiently. Supporting project planning and execution, Ramesh PV and Swaraj KS contribute as Product Managers, Masonic K moved in recently as an ERP Admin supporting development and user adoption of ERP, helping coordinate development activities and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
The development team consists of Vishnu PV, Sudhina KV, Gokul Gopi, Athira Babu, and Sunil Gangadhar, who actively work on building and maintaining the applications used across the organization.
The team is further supported by Sara Easow, who contributes as UI/UX Designer, enhancing the usability and design experience of our applications. Additionally, Aksamol Tomichan contributes across development, testing, and management activities, supporting different aspects of project delivery and team coordination.
Within the CSL team, members work on different projects and support different applications, but collaboration remains our biggest strength.
Everyone supports one another whenever needed, sharing knowledge and helping solve challenges together. This teamwork helps us function not just as individuals working on separate tasks, but as a united and supportive team.
Beyond technical responsibilities, the CSL Family also values building a positive work culture. We actively participate in team activities and often take the initiative to celebrate cultural festivals and special occasions, strengthening the bond between team members.
