Modular Biogas Projects

The BioUrja was designed with the objective of facilitating effective management of organic waste at a decentralized level, so that clean energy is captured from the waste which didn’t ultimately end up in the landfills. Today over a 100+ Biourjas are deployed across the globe.

Intel, Bengaluru

In order to drive the decarbonization efforts of the Intel’s Corporation mega facility in Bengaluru, GPSR established a 200 KPD BioUrja plant that is used to capture clean biogas from the organic waste generated from its cafeterias. This biogas is then used back as a cooking fuel in the very same cafeterias which cater to the employees of the organization thus putting in place a circular economic solution.

Bosch, Bengaluru

With the objective of furthering the Net Zero commitments of Bosch Ltd.’s massive office facility in Bengaluru, GPS Renewables commissioned a 400 KPD BioUrja system that is being used to process the company’s food waste on a daily basis. The biogas generated from the organic waste is then used back in the kitchens of Bosch’s cafeterias as cooking fuel in order to cater to the employees.

Saint Gobain, Coimbatore

To decarbonize the systems and processes at Saint Gobain apart from complying with the industry policy regulations from the government, Saint Gobain decided to install BioUrjas across two of its locations – Coimbatore and Palakkad, namely. Cumulatively the two BioUrja plants installed at Saint Gobain’s premises, process nearly 600 KPD of their organic food waste, from which clean energy is captured.

Kazi Farms, Bangladesh

GPS Renewables commissioned a 20 TPD poultry litter to power project for Kazi Farms in Bangladesh. The input is the litter from the layer farm and GPSR designed process converts it into biogas which is converted to power through a modified diesel engine running on biogas. GPSR commissioned the unit in 2017 with 100% capacity loading and has enabled the reduction in diesel consumption by more than 40% for the client.

Club Hotel Dolphin, Sri Lanka

GPS Renewables commissioned a 500 KPD organic waste to clean biogas project for Club Hotel Dolphin at one of its resorts in Sri Lanka. To decarbonize the systems and processes at Club Hotel Dolphin apart from complying with policy regulations from the government, the resorts company decided to implement organic waste processing using biogas. As a result, the biogas unit today captures biogas which is used for cooking in the resort.
