From the O&M Head’s Desk:
Thirunarayanan A – EVP, O&M
Over the past few years, the O&M function has evolved significantly—from a stabilization-focused phase to a more structured and mature operation with stronger process orientation, better cost control, and robust performance monitoring across sites.
Our focus has been on ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable plant operations, while enabling a smooth EPC to steady-state-O&M transition.
To strengthen operational readiness, the O&M team is deployed a month ahead of inoculation, allowing sufficient time to familiarize with plant equipment and actively participate in pre-commissioning activities. This has been critical in reducing post-commissioning issues, improving plant stability, and driving long-term growth.

Current Quarter – Key Focus Areas
- Achieving stable feedstock handling, consistent feeding, and sustained gas production across all sites.
- Driving operational excellence and improving plant reliability
- Optimizing costs without compromising safety or performance
- Enhancing manpower productivity and improving deployment efficiency
- Ensuring compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental requirements
- Coordinating with the project team for timely closure of commissioning activities and punch points
Expansion of O&M Portfolio
O&M at Barabanki began in August 2023. In 2024, five additional sites were added to the portfolio – Jhajjar 1, Panipat, MSW sites at Vadodara and Prayagraj, and third-party O&M at Jamnagar. Today, our RIL O&M portfolio has grown to 27 sites, with a total operating capacity of 555 TPD.
Portfolio split:
17 sites – TEPC & O&M by GPS Renewables
10 sites – TEPC by third parties, O&M by GPS Renewables
We have a successful record in operating Asia’s largest MSW plant in Indore, which produces 20+ TPD against a rated capacity of 15.3 TPD.
